Jenny Boccardo is an emerging wool painter and textile artist. Jenny began exploring textile arts as a child, learning to sew, knit, embroider, quilt and other traditional “woman’s art forms” from her mother and two grandmothers. Wool roving is now her medium of choice. Jenny grew up in a place where she was allowed to roam free and play in the woods and fields and creeks and her childhood experiences became the foundation for her lifelong passion for wild life and wild places which is strongly represented in her wool paintings.
Jenny studied Horticulture and Landscape Design at Temple University and for many years she painted with flowers, creating flower gardens for clients. Garden design incorporates strong use of texture and form. Jenny likes to work with recycled wool clothing as her canvas and to blend the many textures and weight of wool and yarn to create her unique pieces.
